Weld-Pad Sight Windows
Permanently welded to the vessel or pipe wall for a robust, leak-tight viewing port. The weld-pad base becomes part of the vessel structure; the glass retainer threads on for easy glass replacement without welding. Three standard models for general through demanding process service.
Weld-pad sight windows are permanently welded to the vessel or pipe wall, providing a robust, leak-tight viewing port. The weld-pad base becomes part of the vessel structure, and the glass retainer assembly threads onto the pad for easy glass replacement without welding. Available in three standard models for general service through demanding process applications.
Model 5005DW
Standard Weld-Pad Sight Window
The Model 5005DW is the standard weld-pad sight window for vessels and pipelines. The economical design provides a reliable viewing port for general service applications. The weld-pad base is welded directly to the vessel or pipe wall, and the glass retainer assembly threads onto the pad. Available in a range of sizes and materials.

Model 5200
Standard Weld-Pad Sight Window
The Model 5200 is a standard weld-pad sight window for pressure vessels and pipelines. Borosilicate glass standard with a robust retainer design. The 5200 is the base model in the Jacoby Tarbox pressure vessel window line, suitable for general process service at moderate pressures and temperatures.

| Material | Max Temperature | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Borosilicate Glass | 450°F max | Standard for most applications; excellent chemical resistance |
| Quartz | 500°F+ | High-temperature applications; superior thermal shock resistance |
| Acrylic | 185°F intermittent | Low-cost option for ambient temperature service |
| Polycarbonate | Varies | Impact-resistant; good for mechanical abuse environments |
| UniGlas | 530°F | Borosilicate fused to metal; maximum safety, no bonding agents |
When the process fluid would etch or erode the glass, a thin shield material is placed between the glass and the process fluid. The shield is sacrificial and replaceable, protecting the glass from chemical attack.
Kel-F (CTFE)
Fluids that etch or erode glass (HF, caustics, etc.)
PFA
Aggressive chemical service; broad chemical resistance
Mica
High-temperature steam service
PTFE
General corrosive service
