Next-Generation LED Tank Illuminators for Hazardous Locations
The Phaeton XLT Series represents the next generation of tank illuminators. Using the newest LED lighting technology, the Phaeton produces a bright, clean light for easy and safe viewing into any process vessel or storage tank — while consuming less than one amp of power and requiring virtually no maintenance. Rated for over 100,000 hours of continuous operation, the Phaeton is FM and CSA approved for hazardous environments.
The Phaeton's unique "view-thru" feature eliminates the need for a second tank window, and its direct-powered LED lights remove the potential burning hazard to face and hands. Both the 4-inch and 6-inch models install over virtually any existing tank window with no on-site modifications — three brackets slip over the retaining flange and are secured. The SL model fits smaller openings and sight flow indicators down to 1/2" in size.

View-Thru Design
The Phaeton's unique "view-thru" feature eliminates the need for a second tank window. The light ring mounts directly against the existing window, greatly reducing reflected light associated with traditional units.
Universal Fit — No Modifications
Both the 4-inch and 6-inch Phaeton easily installs over virtually ANY existing tank window. Three brackets slip over the retaining flange and are secured — no on-site modifications needed.
Safe LED Technology
Direct-powered LED lights remove the potential burning hazard to face and hands associated with halogen fixtures. Less than one amp of power consumption — uses 1/20th the power of a 100W bulb without the heat.
FM & CSA Approved
FM Approved for hazardous environments. XLT model: Class I, Div 1, Groups B, C, D. SL model adds ATEX and IECEx approvals for international installations. Available in 120VAC, 240VAC, and 24VDC.
Removable Without Shutdown
The Phaeton can be removed for window cleaning without disconnecting plant power or de-pressurizing the vessel — minimizing downtime and maintenance complexity.
Extended Service Life
Rated for over 100,000 hours (approximately 11 years) of continuous operation. Service life can be extended indefinitely with the optional timer, reducing LED hours and further lowering total cost of ownership.
SL Model — Small Openings
The SL model fits on smaller openings, often replacing "light pipes," and will fit sight flow indicators down to 1/2" in size — ideal for tight installations where the XLT cannot be used.
Same Window Viewing
Both illumination and viewing occur through the same window — no second port required. The Phaeton mounts directly against the window, bringing the light ring flush to minimize reflections.
