Prismatic (Reflex) Level Gages
Clark Reliance® Prismatic (Reflex) Level Gages use prismatic glass to provide a high-contrast, easy-to-read level display. The prismatic glass uses total internal reflection to show the liquid level as a dark area and the vapor space as a bright, silvery-white area — providing excellent visibility even in poor lighting conditions.
Prismatic gages are ideal for boiler water level indication, process vessels, and any application where clear, unambiguous level reading is critical. Available in a wide range of pressure ratings and body materials.
How Prismatic Glass Works
Liquid Zone
Where liquid contacts the prismatic glass, light passes through and the glass appears dark (black). This indicates the liquid level.
Vapor Zone
Where vapor contacts the prismatic glass, total internal reflection occurs and the glass appears bright silver-white. This indicates the vapor space above the liquid.
Interface
The sharp contrast between the dark liquid zone and bright vapor zone makes the liquid level immediately visible, even from a distance.
