The Control Unit: Automatic Activator Of Indicators, Alarms And Controls

Features Control Units are lightweight, compact, easily mounted, and feature performance-proven circuitry to connect transformer, plug in modules with relay outputs and numbered terminals.ECIL Models are employed as standard in systems operating at pressures up to 3000psi.  However, ECIL models are compatible with applications involving exceptionally low conductivity water (less than 10 micromhos), such as in utility boiler feedwater heaters.  Shown is a 12-Level Control Unit in a non-metallic enclosure.  Units vary according to number of detection modules with relay outputs, optional features and types of enclosures.

ECIL models employ electronic plug-in modules which uses only 12VAC in Probe detection circuits.  Each module contains an integral LED display to verify its operational status.  Each module is independently fused for added protection, and safeguards the control unit from a single component failure.  ECIL-**R Control Units provide Field Selectable Auxiliary Dry Alarm Contacts and terminal blocks for all levels.  The relay output contacts contained in the modules are rated at 5 Amperes for 30VDC and 240VAC.

Self-Diagnostics Capability Optional Self-Diagnostic circuit board is designed to monitor all inputs.  This accessory will actuate a normally open switch contact upon detection of an Out-Of-Sequence input condition. This component also provides a slide wire output to interface other signals, such as a 4-20 mA or 0 -5 VDC output.  Specify Component Part No. ECID-69 or ECID-70, when ordering your system.  In addition, this component is DIN mounted, and may be retrofitted to any model ECIL-**R Control Unit.

Dependable Operation Responding to liquid that rises to contact a Probe, the Control Unit activates a relay that signals a light in the indicator(s).  The liquid level indicated is always that of the highest Probe to complete a circuit.  The accurate level reading can be sent by the Control Unit to multiple Indicators of mixed model types.  Also, auxiliary alarms, fuel cutouts and other devices can be connected to actuate at preset liquid levels.

Optional Dual Power Supply Control Units can be wired to operate from two power sources.  Operation can switch automatically between power sources A and B in the event of outages.  Or, if desired, operation can normally employ both A and B power sources simultaneously with each source powering alternate Probes.  Specify PSD-120 or PSD-240

Optional Test SwitchA Test Switch can be furnished that provides rapid status of Control Unit circuitry and Indicator lamps.  The Test Switch may be a self-contained unit for independent mounting or contained within the Control Unit as an integral component.  Specify ECTSLR or ECTSLR-2
Optional Dead Band Relays Dead Band Relays are available within the Control Unit that will actuate "on" and "off" signals to electrical devices at two "high" and two "low" liquid levels.  See Models page for additional information.

Optional 4-20 mA Transmitter May be used to interface with computers , or to power auxiliary analog level indicators.  Specify PC-27

Choice Of Enclosures Control Units are available in the following standard enclosures:
NEMA 1: Indoor
NEMA 4: Indoor / Outdoor
NEMA 4X: Indoor / Outdoor (specify stainless steel, epoxy coated steel, or non-metallic)
NEMA 12: Indoor/Dirt, Noncorrosive Liquids
Other enclosure designs and enclosures to meet specific requirements are available upon request.
