PEECO Flow Switches
Insertion vane for liquid service — field adjustable set point
PEECO Vane-Type Flow Switches
The PEECO vane-type flow switch is an insertion-style device for liquid service. A spring-loaded vane responds to flow velocity — when flow exceeds the set point, the vane deflects and actuates a microswitch. No external power is required for actuation. The set point is fully field adjustable without removing the switch from the line.
Suitable for pipe sizes 1/2" to 4" standard, with larger sizes available. Available in standard (to 600 PSI) configurations. Explosion proof enclosures available for hazardous locations.
Flow Enters the Body
Process fluid enters the switch body through the inlet connection. The vane hangs in the "no-flow" position, held by a calibrated spring.
Vane Deflects with Flow
As flow velocity increases, the drag force on the insertion vane overcomes the spring force. The vane deflects in the direction of flow.
Switch Actuates
At the set-point velocity, the vane deflection actuates the microswitch. The switch changes state — energizing or de-energizing the connected circuit.
Field Adjustable Set Point
The spring tension (and therefore the actuation flow velocity) is adjustable in the field without removing the switch from the line.
Custom-Engineered to Order
PEECO vane flow switches are not off-the-shelf items. To request a quote, provide: fluid type, pipe size, flow rate range, operating pressure, operating temperature, electrical requirements, and area classification. Contact Northeast Controls Inc. for application engineering assistance.
